There is currently no new laws set for 2022 for divorce in Illinois. That is great news after the extensive changes in the last 5 years. Over the years, terms like alimony was replaced with maintenance. Parents no longer have custody. Instead it is parental allocation time. Illinois no longer has grounds for divorce, or a 2 year waiting period to get divorced. Child support has gone through several forms.
